Navigation in Trees
You can use the following keys and key combinations to navigate in tree structures.
Windows Navigation | Macintosh Navigation | Action |
---|---|---|
Down Arrow | Down Arrow | Click to move the selection down one. When the tree control gets focus, use the Down arrow to move the focus to the first node. |
Up Arrow | Up Arrow | Click to move the selection up one item. |
Right Arrow | Right Arrow | Click to open a selected branch node. If a branch is already open, the system selects the first child node. |
Left Arrow | Left Arrow | Click to close a selected branch node. If a leaf node or a closed branch node is currently selected, the system selects the parent node. |
SPACEBAR or * (asterisk on numeric keypad) | SPACEBAR | Click to open or close a selected branch node (toggles the state). |
+ (plus sign on numeric keypad) | Click to open a selected branch node. | |
- (minus sign on numeric keypad) | Click to close a selected branch node. | |
CTRL+Arrow keys | Click to move the focus, but not select a node. Use the SPACEBAR to select a node. | |
